Twenty Minutes to a Better Body

Posted on July 13, 2007 - Filed Under Health, Yoga |

Like many who have watched Oprah on occasion, I am enamored with Dr. Mehmet Oz. Not only is he a cardiothoracic surgeon (say that 3 times fast) , but he is one of the most charismatic people I have heard discussing health. He is a regular guest on The Oprah Winfrey Show where he answers all sorts of questions about your body, many that you are too embarrassed to ask. Although I am at work when Oprah comes on, Dr. Oz has a radio show on XM where he discusses all matters of physical, and often mental, health; so I get to catch him on the radio driving home from work. He demystifies things like: Which is the best cooking oil to use at different temperatures and what are the foods that I should be avoiding at all costs?

One of the reasons he is so successful is that his advice for health and weight loss doesn’t merely consist of a bunch of dont’s and then a prescription to exercise, he’s successful because he explains the dont’s and gives you a bunch of great alternatives in addition to some practical exercise advice and specific exercise moves. One of the workouts he helped create is a 20-minute workout that has many positions similar to that in yoga, so I thought I would share the workout with others as I begin to try it for myself.

So check it out and let me know what you think!
