DC Reads at the 5th Place Level

Posted on December 28, 2007 - Filed Under VA/DC/MD Happenings, Publishing |

One would hope that our nation’s capital has some of the most literate people even though passed policies often create another perception. But lucky us, DC comes in 5th as the United States’ most literate city.

LiveScience published their report today placing Minneapolis and Seattle at the top of the list with St. Louis coming in 6th and Boston, Mass., falling in 10th place on the list.

There were six key categories the Connecticut State University focused on with Washington, DC, and St. Louis, Mo., (go Rams!) containing “the most large magazine publishers and large journals.”

So as someone with a master’s in Publishing from George Washington University living and working in the DC metro area, I guess I am where I am supposed to be, unless you are hiring editors in Seattle, then give me a ring.
